Doom Rooms is this week's Mission. Lots of ELECTROCRABs and BOUNCERs to ZAP. But don't forget to eat. And those 2,000 point CDs may be worth a look.
Once again we have 2 age divisions: Unlimited (15+) and Whelp.
Email your ChipWits to contest @ chipwits.com. We'll run them through a 10 Mission Series and the winner is the 'Wit with the highest average score.
Prizes are anything under $25 in the ChipWits store.
Happy Zapping! |

Hi Doug!
Happy ZAPping, oh I'd love that!
Sadly, however, I've been exceptionally busy, both at work and at home. So many things to do, so little time...
Thus I still wasn't able to even start experimenting, let along create something of high enough quality to let you see it. I'll try for Saturday evening, but unfortunately I cannot guarantee it.
Many greetings from the other side of this planet,

Hi again!
Oh yes - my brother's here, and we're enjoying ourselves
I did manage to find an hour on a laptop, while he checked through his emails and the like on my main system. The laptop is a not-quite recent Toshiba Protégé 3440CT Laptop: Pentium III/500 with Win2K on it.
After all, I want a ChipWits T-shirt! ;)
Downloading the very latest version, I ran into a few bugs (I'll post them unter the 'Bug Hunting' topic). The primary bug, however, was that I could very rarely drag-n-drop a chip into the code - I managed it, I think, merely twice.
Since I don't have any more time this weekend, I must apologize for not sending you a supersmartextraordinaryshirtwinning ChipWit...
I'll have more time in a week or two
Greetings from Munich (filled with oktoberfestiarian beerdrinkers),

I was really hoping to participate in this one, I have a great logic-plan for a Doom Rooms champ, but I just don't have the time. ^.^;;
I got a new job and I was working hard all week, and I got a new Playstation 2 and Okami and that game is just the bomb. ^.^;;
So I'll have to let someone else win the shirt tomorow. _________________ -- Relee the Squirrel -- |

Congrats to Trojo's Rusty, who posted a series average of 10.468 and a high score of 11,950. His was the only entry this week, but it was a good one.
Next week I will run a Doom Rooms contest again, and am going to spread the word in some geek game forums.
I'll post Rusty at ChipWits.com later today. |

Yay, Rusty
Rusty is mostly based on Lefty's code; the main difference is it looks for crabs and bouncers (didn't these used to be called bounders?) and shoots them. It has one other minor tweak as well.
TBPH, I've been a little busy this week so not a whole lot of thought or innovation went into Rusty. Plus it was hard to test minor variations in Rusty's code because of the can't-handle-direction bug.

Since I don't have anyone else to compare Rusty against, I'm curious as to how your own ChipWits do in Doom Rooms. |

Well gosh, I'm kinda disappointed. If I had known there would be only one entry I would have entered Hunting Owlwit. It's a variation on Owlwit 2 that shoots Electrocrabs and Bouncers.

Shoot. I should have entered Hunting Owlwit. I left it running last night and it scored about 16,000 average with a high of 37,000. _________________ -- Relee the Squirrel -- |
